In light of the current budget situation in Texas, some changes will be instituted at the Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic lab in compliance with Texas AgriLife Extension Service partial cost recovery efforts (see former blog post).  The following changes will go into effect on JUNE 1, 2011:

  • General plant disease diagnostic services and nematode detection assay fees will increase from $30  to $35.
  • Specialized testing procedures will vary depending on the testing requested.  Please check out the fee schedule page on the plant clinic website. Typically the test currently performed at $50 will increase to $55.
  • In addition, ALL out-of-state samples will be assessed a $20 surcharge per sample.

New forms D1178 and D827 will be available on May 25,2011 on the plantclinic website and the AgriLifebookstore website (http://agrilifelearn.tamu.edu).

The Phytophthora Detection for Nursery service will be discontinued (TPDDL form 1003).

Fee structure for special services, Pierce’s Disease (TPDDL 1004) and Huanglongbing (TPDDL 1005), will remain unchanged at this current time.
